“The Captive Mind” Vodka Cocktail

We all know how lemons and sugar come together to make an iconic summer treat, but this one has a little something extra for the adults! The Captive Mind is a sweet, tart, and sippable summer cocktail that marries that classic lemonade taste with our Florida Cane Vodka.

Our Florida Cane Vodka is an integral part of our history: it was the first spirit we sold when we opened our doors in 2014! Made from a sugar cane base, it features floral and grassy notes on the nose which give way to a pleasantly sweet taste with hints of anise, white pepper, and molasses. Whether you prefer to sip it straight, in a martini, or in a Florida Mule, it’s a smooth and refreshing way to enjoy the Spirit of Florida®.

Blueberries and mint add some summery flavor to this cocktail. In order to get the most out of your garnish, allow the blueberries to soak in your drink for a tasty treat at the end. Also, be sure to rub the mint leaf before garnishing to release the oils for a fresh scent!

INGREDIENTS

• 1.5oz St. Augustine Florida Cane Vodka 

• .75oz fresh lemon juice

• .75oz simple syrup 

• 6 blueberries

• 5-6 mint sprigs

RECIPE

1. Combine Florida Cane Vodka, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled.

2. Strain into a glass with ice.

3. Garnish with mint, blueberries and lemon peel. Enjoy!
