Mint Julep

Mint Julep

The Mint Julep may be synonymous with the Kentucky Derby, but our recipe is all Florida! This simple yet delicious cocktail combines the flavor profile of our Florida Straight Bourbon with refreshing mint and a touch of sweetness. This is the perfect way to enjoy bourbon in the summer months!

The bourbon aging process gives bourbon 100% of its color and up to 70% of its flavor. It is also heavily influenced by climate, and as pioneers of bourbon distillation in Florida, we are always exploring the effects of our state’s tropical climate on bourbon aging. The result is a full-bodied, complex spirit with hints of tobacco, caramel, brazil nut, chocolate, and baking spices.

Crushed ice is an essential component of this refreshing recipe: the smaller pieces melt faster, creating a ratio of bourbon to cold water that cools down the drink without compromising flavor. The mule tin keeps your drink cool as the ice melts, ensuring a perfectly sippable summer drink.

Whether you’re watching the race or simply enjoying the warm weather, learn how to make this classic cocktail below!
